An ancient wizard who controlled the jungles of Zamoria long ago. Known by two titles: the Witch King to those who lived under his rule, and the Unholy Wizard to those who tried and failed to destroy his work.
Background
Nethum’s full name and the scope of his agenda were preserved only in the library he built, the Witch King’s Library. His mark appeared carved into the walls of the Ethereal Contrivance of the Unholy Wizard, and scratched near the entrance of the Fractured Workshops of the Sealed Flame in multiple handwriting styles across centuries. Someone had been checking that his work survived.
The party encountered his mark in multiple locations across the campaign, and recovered documents from the Fractured Workshops that referenced his agenda obliquely. What he ultimately intended the Vessel to be used for remained unclear.
Research notes from the Workshops refer to an entity called “the Donor” who directed Nethum’s work and expected something in return. Whether this is a name, a title, or an alias is unclear.
