The Hoteliers’ Guild controls every space in Firebell where people relax their guard: inns, bathhouses, houses of leisure, clubs. Member establishments operate in every district from Highcourt to Ironmane’s Quarter. On the surface, the Guild is a service organization. In practice, it sits on one of the most valuable information positions in the city: people talk when they think no one important is listening, and innkeepers are always there.
Fendwick, a gnome, leads the Guild. Sorviel Valandris, an elf noble from House Valandris in Vivi Square, serves as an at-large member of the Firebell Council, giving the Guild a quiet political voice it rarely needs to use loudly.
Area of Operation
City-wide. The Guild has a presence in every district.
What They Stand For
Service and discretion are the Guild’s public face. The quiet understanding behind that face is that discretion is its own currency. The Guild doesn’t sell what it knows directly. It trades in favors, goodwill, and the occasional well-timed leak. It is easy to overlook the Guild as a power in Firebell. That is, from the Guild’s perspective, ideal.
The Refugee Strain
The Cavianan refugee influx has put significant pressure on inn capacity across the city. The Guild is managing that strain while also watching the demand for beds and lodging rise in ways it did not anticipate.
