The Craftsmen Federation is the coalition of Firebell’s craft trades: weavers, tailors, shipwrights, smiths, and bakers. Less politically connected than the Merchant’s Guild, the Federation nonetheless underpins the city’s physical maintenance in ways the Guild cannot replace. Ships get built and repaired by the shipwrights. The walls stay up because of the smiths. When the Federation’s trades slow down, the city’s infrastructure degrades.
Ironmane serves as the Federation’s practical authority: the blacksmith who runs Ironmane’s Quarter also speaks for the craft trades as a whole.
Area of Operation
City-wide. Member shops operate across all five of Firebell’s districts.
What They Stand For
The Federation holds that fair wages and quality work are non-negotiable standards, not aspirational goals. They frame unguilded labor not just as competition but as a public safety risk: a badly made ship or a shoddy repair job has real consequences. That argument gives them moral cover for what is also, plainly, an effort to control the market and drive out cheaper competition.
Unguilded shops operating in the same trades as Federation members are a persistent tension throughout the city.
