Caviana is a republic the party has traveled through and has contacts in. It lies south of Zamoria Valley. Its largest city is Socubba; its towns include Hogsfoot, Thalanor, Uriana, and Westpass.
The Conquest
Caviana is under active military conquest by Ivasaar Ulawenys’s forces. The campaign is ongoing. The republic’s institutions are under pressure; the resistance that has formed against the conquest is outgunned and losing ground.
Chiezzem is backing the conquest, though his direct involvement is not visible to most people on the ground.
Cheating Ben is in Caviana working against the conquest, running supplies, moving people, making himself useful to those who are losing. He has no ties to the Order of the Pale Flame and appears to be working actively against Chiezzem’s interests in the region, whether or not he understands that is what he is doing.
Effect on Firebell
The conquest is driving refugees northward. Firebell has seen an influx of displaced people from Caviana, which is visible in the city’s demographics and strains on the Ironmane’s Quarter district in particular.

Seraphine Voss has ties to Caviana that go beyond what most people know. Cheating Ben has a locket that belongs to Seraphine, which she has been trying to recover.
